First Class to Eagle
Once your reach First Class, your Scoutmaster Conferences will be handled by the Scoutmaster of Troop 507. This is done by appointment, on times other than Monday meetings, usually at your residence, with a parent present, and in full Class A uniform. First Class and Star Scouts are expected to attend NYLT or equivalent leadership training class at their earliest availability. This aids the Scout with leadership skills that can be put to the test, in their upcoming required leadership roles. Ask the Scoutmaster for a recommendation and find out when these courses are offered.
Remember, Scoutmaster conferences for Star, Life, and Eagle ranks are held by appointment at the Scout’s home in full Class A uniform. One of your parents should be home and present at the beginning of the Scoutmaster conference. They will not be present during our conversation, but should be nearby to comply with youth protection policies. During the conference, we will review what requirements you have completed, discuss how things are going for you in the Troop, and what we can do to better the Troop. There will be an emphasis on review how the Scout has lived up to the Scout Oath and Law, how the Scout has demonstrated leadership, and what responsibilities the Scout has to the Troop. Parents will be invited to review our conversation at the end of the Scoutmaster conference.
